Who was Mahasweta Devi?


Mahasweta Devi was an Indian Bengali writer, actress, novelist and a social worker. She was born on 14 January 1926 and died on 28 july 2016. She was a great woman.

She wrote 100+ novels in Bengali language which later translated in different languages. Her first novel was based on story of Raani of Jhansi which was published in 1956. She helped several women in their life.

Today is her 92 Birth anniversary. Google India paid her tribute by replacing a doodle.
